Cole and Melissa’s maternity session at Snow Canyon State Park this past January was one I won’t soon forget.  This Saturday session during golden hour was one that I had been looking forward to for a very special reason – THIS was a rainbow baby.  Anyone that’s been through this same situation understands.  The soon-to-be mother contacted me online and I messaged her immediately to tell her I wanted to photograph her and Cole’s maternity – if they would have me!

Cole and Melissa define fun-loving, adventurous, outdoorsy couples in love and this is everything I hope for. Especially when I show up at the wrong trailhead, make them drive to me and start hiking – before realizing I was in the wrong spot!! *face palm*. But they just laughed and rolled with it – they’re going to be amazing parents!

Utah had been hit by winter storm after winter storm, so I was curious to see what Snow Canyon State Park would look like! There was a dusting of snow on the very tip-top of the red cliffs and beautiful reflection ponds everywhere that I had never seen before.

All in all, it was truly a perfect day and the winter weather was quiet and still.  The red rocks peeking behind the petrified dunes was a gorgeous scene that we got to enjoy. Together, Cole and Melissa completely compliment one another. They are, indeed, a perfect match, and I am just bursting with joy that I get to document their long awaited baby, along with their love of adventure.

Cole and Melissa, thank you SO MUCH for trusting me to capture an amazing moment in your life. I am so beyond happy that this little guy finally made his way into your family and I wish all the happiness in the world for the three of you!
