Aidan and Darian’s winter engagement session at Zion National Park this past January was one I won’t soon forget.  This early Friday morning session was one that I had been looking forward to for YEARS.  Seriously.  I have never done a sunrise session in Zion before.  The soon-to-be bride contacted me online and I messaged her immediately to tell her I wanted to photograph her and Aidan’s engagement – if they would have me!

Aidan and Darian define fun-loving, adventurous, outdoorsy couples in love and this is everything I hope for when I photograph couples through details, posing and candids. I wish for laughter, and joy, and down-to-earth couples with big hearts for the people in their lives. This is Aidan and Darian to a T!

Utah had been hit by winter storm after winter storm, resulting in that beautiful powder that Utah is famous for! We had originally planned to hike out to Zion’s Canyon Overlook but during the drive in, the main road was covered in avalanches. We made the safe decision to not risk a snow or rock slide and ended up exploring the main canyon – stopping everywhere we wanted since the park shuttle wasn’t running.

All in all, it was truly a perfect day and the winter weather was quiet and still.  The red rocks peeking through all the white snow was a gorgeous scene that we got to enjoy. Together, Aidan and Darian completely compliment one another. They are, indeed, a perfect match, and I am just bursting with joy that I get to document their love along with their love of adventure.

FINAL THOUGHTS ON THIS WINTER ENGAGEMENT SESSION IN ZION NATIONAL PARK, UTAH

Aidan and Darian, thank you SO MUCH for traveling all the way from Georgia to visit Utah’s first national park. I am so beyond happy that I got to be there to witness the beginning of your next big adventure and I wish all the happiness in the world for the two of you!

Thank you a million times over for being so incredible. I hope this new adventure together gets better each and every day. Your joy is contagious and I absolutely loved being surrounded by it during your engagement session. Cheers to many more decades of love and happiness!
